We provide an SMS gateway API. You use it to send text messages. Don't be a jerk about it. That's basically it, but here are the details.
SMS Relay is operated by The IT Dept Pty Ltd (ABN 12 665 405 505), based on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. You can reach us at hello@theitdept.au.
When you sign up, you give us your name, email, and a password. Keep your password safe — we can't see it and we won't ask for it. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including any API keys you create.
One account per person or organisation, please. If we find duplicate or fake accounts, we may close them.
You can use the SMS Relay API to send text messages for legitimate purposes. That includes things like:
Pretty simple — don't use the service to:
If you're unsure whether your use case is okay, just ask us. We're friendly.
New accounts receive 50 free credits. Each outbound SMS costs one credit. When you run out, your messages won't send until you get more credits. We may offer paid credit top-ups in the future.
Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or refunded.
We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. SMS delivery depends on carrier networks that are outside our control. We provide the service "as is" without warranties of any kind.
We're not liable for messages that don't get delivered, arrive late, or cause any downstream issues. If something goes wrong, we'll do our best to help, but our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the issue.
If you break these terms, abuse the service, or we're required to by law, we can suspend or close your account. We'll try to give you a heads up first if it's practical, but we can act immediately if needed.
You can also close your account at any time by emailing us.
We might update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know via email or a notice in the portal. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of NSW.
Email us at hello@theitdept.au. We're real people and we'll get back to you.
